The Phoenix bird is a symbol with many powerful variations. It's said to be a creature of great longevity, wisdom and creativity, the balance of feminine and masculine energies, and a link to the Divine But the Phoenix is best known as a symbol of rebirth and renewal. When the Phoenix senses the coming end of a cycle, it builds a nest of aromatic herbs and twigs, rubs its wings to create a spark and allows the fire to consume it. From this nest of ashes a new version of that same Phoenix arises, bringing with it all the accumulated wisdom of each of its previous lives. 

 

The Phoenix brings us an important and powerful message - the times that feel hardest, lowest and most hopeless can be a doorway to great and lasting change. This reminds us that we can grow through what we go through and emerge stronger, wiser and more fully alive. 

 

Phoenix birds embody the courage to face their own transformation willingly and their story encourages us to confront fears and doubts  knowing we have the power within ourselves to overcome challenges. We rise from the ashes, not as we were but as what we've become.

I spent close to 20 years as  a massage therapist specializing in Myofascial Release and Craniosacral therapy, and another decade working with children in special education. Both of these experiences taught me how our bodies hold our history and how transformative, gentle and nurturing touch can be. 

 

After my own cancer diagnosis and successful treatment, I learned in a new way, what it means to rebuild trust with your body to move through fear and find strength and joy again. 

 

My return to massage therapy is another vision of the Phoenix story. Having been through the fire of treatment, I am no longer the same person I was before and I offer that experience  for you in your healing and transformation.
